ARLA FOODS
When Gill from Arla Foods in Scotland read about us, she knew she wanted to help and got the backing of her employer to do so.
She rallied the staff at various Arla locations around the UK, including the Lockerbie Creamery, Arla Dairy Aylesbury and Arla Hatfield to raise money for children’s Christmas presents to be delivered to hospitals.
Gill was amazing at galvanising support and although her original request to staff was to simply donate a surplus present she was overwhelmed by the generosity of staff members who went out and bought brand-new gifts and vouchers.
Gill and some of her colleagues who helped visited us with masses of donated presents beautifully wrapped for Joss Searchlight to deliver to children’s cancer care wards.
‘It was amazing’ said Dianne Parkes. ‘Gill is based in Lockerbie and came down to our base in Buckinghamshire with literally hundreds of beautifully wrapped presents. Each gift was cleverly coded for age and gender along with hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers. It was amazing and made me quite tearful’.
Gill then arranged for many trucks to be adorned with our posters, raising awareness along their routes.
